Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained so our team can respond. It is not disclosed outside the organization unless the law requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may automatically receive basic technical and usage information:
- Page-view dates and times
- Your device's assigned IP address
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- A referring site, when one exists
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help show how visitors move through the site, including popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers combine that traffic information for measurement. You can block cookies through browser controls, although doing so may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Finding and repairing performance or technical problems
- Operating the site and improving load times
- Routing a search request to the selected outside provider
- Measuring which pages are useful and which need improvement
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The site explains how to reach Oneida County Sheriff's Office, the District Court and Magistrate Division, Idaho State Police Bureau of Criminal Identification, and the Idaho Central Sex Offender Registry. Idaho BCI dissemination is governed by Idaho Code §67-3008. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not compiled into a consumer report or a record about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the site's search boxes. Their privacy terms govern information entered there, including retention and sharing, and those practices are beyond our control. Read the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Oneida County offices, Idaho court and agency portals, legal-aid resources, or private search services. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across sites and tailor ads. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a query you choose to submit
- Advertising networks serving ads on these pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
We use customary safeguards for collected data. No internet-connected system is completely secure, however, so protection against every breach cannot be guaranteed.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If such information is identified, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary by residence. In Idaho, consumer-protection matters are addressed by the Idaho Consumer Protection Act, Idaho Code Title 48, Chapter 6. The Idaho Public Records Act, Idaho Code Title 74, Chapter 1, governs requests to public agencies, not private-site visitor data. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Seek correction of inaccurate information
- Object to certain forms of processing
